New season, new boots.

The weather for us has brought a welcome change.  The cold air brings the exciting and almost forgotten prospect of wearing layers again. Its also a time for new products to hit the store.

First up, the Rover 2953 in Hawthorne Muleskinner.

The end of last year brought the updated design build of our 6-inch round toe boot.  You may all remember the Rovers predecessors, 8196 in Briar oil slick, 9111 in Copper rough & tough, and 8181 Hawthorne muleskinner - in terms of quality nothings changed, but we have made some subtle differences which we think really elevates this shoe into a league of its own.

Price - £249

The Rover 2953 consists of our coffee cushion crepe sole which creates a great contrast to our Hawthorne leather upper whilst providing maximum comfort.  It also has a contrasting coloured midsole for added aesthetic.

Built on a no.8 "last"(Beckman, Iron Ranger, Blacksmith) it accommodates and benefits a broader foot shape whilst still fitting extremely well all round for varied foot types.  Its straight ankle opening (like the Blacksmith) provides good support around the ankle as well as the help from speed hooks for even more security.

Secondly, the Merchant 8064 in Amber Harness.

The 8064 Merchant is based on one of our classic work boots from the 1920s, style 245. Designed without a toe-box to give a slimmer look and a lower toe profile than similar round toe designs such as the Blacksmith and Iron Ranger.

The merchant also features a specially designed Chemi Gum sole, historically used on Red Wing work boots since the early 1960s. This sole has a lower cork content than the Nitrile Cork used on the Iron Ranger 8111, which makes for a more flexible, comfortable wear whilst maintaining prolonged durability.

Now introduced in one of our most iconic leather types,  Amber Harness, to guarantee a beautiful character and patina with age.  This boot works great with a slimmer, straight trouser or just aswell with a wide chino for that more heritage look.

And last but not least, the Blacksmith 3345 in Black Prairie.

Im sure most of you are familiar with our Black Klondike leather.  Seen on the sought after anniversary boot, The Huntsman and our Japanese exclusive 2966 Engineer boot.  For those that don't, it's basically a double tanned process, a brown leather which is painted black so over time shows wonderful character through the top side of the grain pronouncing and exaggerating every scratch and detail.  Our black prairie leather does exactly this.  Its an extremely high ageing leather unlike Klondike which takes a little longer to show, almost immediately you will find the colour changing. This is its real beauty!

All of our Blacksmith boots come with our trademark triple stitch details and the added Vibram 430 mini lug outsole making it suitable for any terrain or environment.  Its silhouette provides durability and flexibility, originally designed for outdoor use but is also perfect for modern city life.
